RTA has just presented its new Pre-Fall collection for 2022. Following the appointment of the brand’s new creative director, Robert Liptak — who’s CV shows experience of roles at Rick Owens, Anthony Vacarello, Saint Laurent, and, most recently, Tom Ford — RTA’s new collection shows a combination of denim and leather, while its contemporary outlook also leans into elements of streetwear through dark color palettes and boxy silhouettes.
The collection as a whole takes inspiration from Las Vegas, with some of its slinky designs showing plenty of skin and looking like they’re designed for a long dance under the lights. On the other hand, other styles use layering to their full potential with heavy-set knitwear and durable leather more suited to dingy dive bars along the strip.
Highlights from the collection come in the form of nylon pants which are crafted in a wide and airy fit, while the ankles are complemented with velcro fastening around the ankles. Furthermore, trippy, psychedelic elements are used through velvet denim, while tuxedo shirts can be spotted in hues of pink and black.
Rounding off the collection, an embroidered leather jacket is included, along with a metallic zip-up coat which is designed with a cropped waist, dropped shoulders, and baggy arms. The same silver jacket also comes with a sharp fitted collar and a blacked-out internal lining.
