Capcom will soon release its much-anticipated title Resident Evil Village and the company is giving eager fans of the franchise a little taste of what’s to come. Resident Evil Village has been given a new demo, and it has been unveiled that the game will be getting a “Mercenaries Mode.”

Players will be allotted one hour to try out the game. The demo will focus on segments centered around the village and castle, 30 minutes each. The game’s producer Tsuyoshi Kanda mentioned in Capcom’s Gameplay Demo Reveal that “it’s up to you how you spend your survival horror experience.” In “Mercenaries Mode” — a side-game where the objective is to take down as many enemies as possible — players will get to stack up big combos in a limited time. This mode has appeared in previous Resident Evil titles, but this time, players get to customize their loadouts with weapons and abilities best suited for their play-style.

The demo will be available on Sony PlayStation 4 and 5, Microsoft XBOX X|S and PC on May 1.

In case you missed it, Resident Evil‘s film reboot Welcome to Raccoon City has delayed its release date.
