Energy around New Balance right now is arguably at an all-time high as the brand continues to draw crowds to its rapidly-growing collaborations catalog and its output of stunningly-styled GRs. And now the footwear brand is broadening its Summer release calendar with the launch of this gray and navy New Balance 1600 colorway.
While this pair has absolutely no ties to Georgetown University, its palette is strongly reminiscent of Hoya Nation’s signature colors. Gray covers the upper along the tongues toe boxes in a lighter form while the overlays that make up the mid-foot and mudguards deviate with a darker shading. Navy blue accents slightly peak out on the toe boxes as well as surround the eye stays. Golden embroidery is another main component of this installment as it appears on various parts of the base. It adorns the side N logos, the tongue branding which spells out the shoe model and “Japan Exclusive”, the “Limited Edition” hits on the forefoot, the “ABZORB” embellishments on the lateral heels and the “Just For the Fit” spell outs on the back.
As indicated by the tongue branding, this pair is dropping exclusive in Japan via select retailers like atmos for ¥19,800 (approx. $180 USD)
Elsewhere in the realm of footwear, New Balance’s 57/40 “Father’s Day” is available now on HBX.
