On new album Beautiful and Brutal Yard, J Hus served up exactly what fans were missing during the rapper’s three-year hiatus. Specifically, the album’s seventh track, “Masculine” featuring none other than Burna Boy, proved to be a standout; J Hus has just dropped the cut’s music video, which amalgamates a plethora of concert footage with candid backstage moments of the duo.
As J Hus slides over the beat (“My n*gga, how many times do I have to remind you that? / Stepped in the place, now they’re climbin’ walls / ‘Cause my brother’s first name is Bala, last name is Clava, there for palaver”), the track’s music video sees a compilation of intimate pre-performance and post-performance videos of the rapper.
The video was actually shot at one of J Hus’ recent performances at the London Stadium. Nathan Miller shot the entirety of the performance as well as the lively behind-the-scenes happenings that took place before, during and after the concert. Footage of J Hus and Burna Boy doing pushups and bantering backstage is intermingled amidst lively clips of the performance itself.
