Yesterday’s Super Bowl LVI halftime show was centered around hip-hop, with performances from Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, 50 Cent and Mary J. Blige. Now, another rapper is paying tribute to the big game.
NBA YoungBoy has released a new single called “SuperBowl,” using the event as a metaphor for the love he feels for a woman. He drops bars on how he “should buy a wedding ring” and that despite tough times, she’s able to withstand it “like a soldier.”
“Having you make me feel like I won the Super Bowl,” he raps.
The new track arrives less than a month after the Baton Rouge rapper’s Colors mixtape. In the description of the song on YouTube, he hinted that more music, and perhaps a full-length project, will be in fans’ hands sometime soon.
“I’m stalling into the album (get ready),” NBA YoungBoy wrote. “I’m gone keep dropping.”
