Good Morning Britain has been taken off air in a host of ITV cancellations as the channel aims to reshuffle its schedule.

The long-running fixture will not be aired during its usual slot on Friday alongside other shows who saw their running times swiped from them over the coming weeks.

Loose Women and This Morning will also take a break during their scheduled broadcasting times on Thursday.

The shake-up in daytime TV programming comes ahead of the Women’s World Cup kick-off in Australia and New Zealand.

Due to the global time zones, the tournament’s matches will begin earlier in the UK and so daytime TV scheduling is set to suffer.

Despite other ITV shows re-jigging their airtime, Lorraine fans were in luck after it was announced the chat show would host an extended show instead during her allocated hours.

Next Monday however, there will be no morning TV shown on the channel with Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women all losing their timings for the football.

The World Cup is due to get going on Thursday with an opening match between Norway and the competition’s  co-hosts New Zealand.

Many travelling Down Under to catch the The Lionesses in action, the much-loved England squad kicked-off their contest campaign against Haiti on Saturday and are gearing up to take on Denmark and China next.

Ahead of the tournament, coach Sarina Wiegman, 53, told fans: ‘You can be very excited, I think we’re in a good place.

‘Everyone is getting to the next level again. The team is very excited, we have one more week to prepare for Haiti and we’ll be absolutely ready to go.

‘We’re working hard, but the balance between working hard to improve and having some time off to switch to get some headspace is important.

‘We are not robots. This environment helps too. We want everyone to be fit and well when the tournament kicks off.’

A win for the Euros 2022 champions – England’s women – would mean the side would become the first senior national squad to claim victory over two major football championships in a row.

The knockout stages of the highly-anticipated cup competition are set to start on August 5 – with the final due to be played on August 20 at Stadium Australia in Sydney.
