Tony Ferguson, a celebrated Girls Skateboards pro and the founder of Rone Footwear has joined forces with New Balance and skater Tiago Lemos to launch a second, more limited iteration of the Numeric 1010.
This latest example of the “Numeric Tiago Lemos 1010” comes as a “Friends & Family” pair, constructed with premium materials and a high bar for attention to detail. Details include a smooth leather liner throughout, a low-profile zipper tongue, an engraved deubré or shoelace tag with “Rone” branding and individual dust bags for each shoe.
Other notable aspects of the shoe include New Balance’s dual-density FuelCel midsole, suede inner heel pods and of course, a stunning outer layer of Arctic Blue leather cloaked over the upper.
In a comment on the pair, Ferguson said “I’ve been wearing New Balance forever, and Tiago is one of my favorite skaters, so this project is very special to me,” he added that “Tiago’s raw talent, power, and style is reminiscent of the ‘90s but with next-level pop. You can tell that he’s inspired by, and is paying homage to, that era while also pushing skating forward. This collaboration feels like a perfect encapsulation of the past, present, and future.”
The limited edition “Friends & Family” Tiago Lemos 1010 x Rone is set to release July 28 at a retail price of $180 USD exclusively on Rone’s official site.
In other footwear news, it seems the Crenshaw Skate Club x Nike SB Dunk Low is coming sooner than expected.
