After 15 years, fans will be surprised to learn that THQ Nordic has decided to remake Destroy All Humans! 2 for next-gen consoles as well as PC.

The remake playfully named Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed will be developed by Black Forest Games, which will bring its original PlayStation 2 and Xbox game up to modern standards for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S using Unreal Engine 4. The came is said to feature local split-screen co-op mode for those who wish to play together as well as a significantly larger open-world experience for gamers to venture through.

For those unaware, Destroy All Humans! 2  was first launched back in 2006 and quickly became a cult classic. The game throws players back to the year 1969 where the Cold War was still ongoing. You’ll play as an alien who posed as the president of the United States, fighting your way through hordes of enemies from the KGB in order to take down the Soviet Union.

There’s currently no official release date yet for Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed, so fans of the original franchise should stay tuned for more updates to come.

Elsewhere in gaming, Stern has unveiled a new Godzilla-themed pinball machine.
