NBA star Damian Lillard is leaning into his rapper alias Dame D.O.L.L.A., releasing his fifth studio album Don D.O.L.L.A.. Critics are calling this album his most personal project yet, with the 15-track mixtape featuring big features from the likes of Rick Ross, Lil Wayne and more.

Each guest artist adds their own dimension to the track. The project is produced by Nonstop Da Hitman and Ayo. Lillard spoke on what it was like to create this album, stating, “Creating Don D.O.L.L.A. has been a transformative journey for me as I deal with the obstacles in my life. I wanted to make an album that not only showcased my growth as an artist but also conveyed the complexities of my life and responsibilities. This project allowed me to delve into my emotions and share my experiences in a way I’ve never done before. I usually record an album during the NBA offseason in a couple of weeks, but this album took over a year. I sat with this art and made sure I was saying exactly what I wanted to say in the best way I could. I know I became a better artist and storyteller with this album.”

Those who remember may know that Lillard suffered a season-ending injury in March. Currently in the NBA world, Lillad is looking for a trade from Portland it remains to be seen how it all goes before the season begins. Take a listen below at the album.
