Prepare for a serious bout of nostalgia, as the cast of Cool Runnings have reunited!

It’s hard to believe it’s been 30 years since the film was made, but it was indeed released in 1993.

Starring John Candy, Rawle D. Lewis, Doug E. Doug, Malik Yoba, and Leon Robinson to name just a few, the sport/comedy is loosely based on a true story.

The plot follows a Jamaican bobsleigh team as they fight many odds, including a reluctant coach, to compete in the 1988 Winter Olympics.

They train in harsh and sunny climes for a sport that, as the synopsis says, ‘chills them to their bones.’

It’s a real feel-good movie that fans have watched countless times both as children and as adults – it’s no surprise it raked in £129million at the box office.

Since Cool Runnings threw them into the spotlight, the much-loved cast members have continued to act and perform.

Doug voiced Bernie in Shark Tale, starred in the CBS sitcom Cosby, and continues to do stand-up comedy.

Rawle also starred in Narcos: Mexico in 2018, and Bite Size Halloween in 2020.

As for Leon, he starred in TV series The Temptations and had roles as Shep in the 1994 basketball drama Above the Rim, and Little Richard in the 2000 film Little Richard.

Meanwhile, Malik appeared in ABC’s Designated Survivor and has also starred in Netflix drama Seven Seconds, as well as Jordan Peele’s TBS comedy The Last OG, making him arguably the most successful of the bunch.
