adidas has just presented the latest iteration of the Crazy 1, and this time, Kobe Bryant’s first-ever footwear silhouette will be available in a striking “Regal Purple” colorway.
Recently, adidas announced that it was re-dropping its iconic “Sunshine” version of the sneaker. This specific pair is synonymous with Kobe, with the colorway paying homage to the iconic colors of the L.A. Lakers. Now, this new version of the shoe is coming in purple, a very similar hue to the shades that covered Kobe’s classic purple jersey he wore in 1997, when winning the Slam Dunk contest at 18 years old.
The sneaker starts with an injected EVA midsole, designed to offer step-absorbing comfort while its integrated torsion system between the heel and forefoot also provides a more stable ride. Additionally, a herringbone pattern has been used across the rubber outsole — this supports strong cuts and bold moves through elevated traction.
Elsewhere, the Three Stripes branding is deeply embedded into the structural uppers, complementing the sole unit that doubles as a bumper around the shoe. Furthermore, a “Core Black” heel tab with adidas’ logo hits the rear, blending into the sock liner that’s designed to hug the foot and allow for quick movements on the hardwood. Rounding things off, the tongue is kitted out in purple laces and a ridged toe bump finishes the front.
You can have a closer look at the latest Crazy 1 sneaker above and it is available now on the official adidas website for $140 USD.
