Fed_up_Brit1 asked Dick on Twitter: “When are Dick and Jenny getting together to write that cookbook we are all waiting for?

“I already have too many, so I’ve stopped buying news ones, but that will be something special and I’ll break my self-imposed ban! @dickstrawbridge.” (sic)

Dick responded today in view of his 83,800 Twitter followers.

He said: “Watch this space… something a little different on the way very soon….”

Dude48884687 hastily replied: “Aww.”

Weeeannie commented: “You do realise Mr Strawbridhge you are the new standard for son in law all others now fall short of?”(sic)

Dick responded: “At 62 not quite the typical son in law?!?”

The television personality regularly cooks on Escape to the Chateau as well as doing his regular DIY jobs.

On Sunday night’s show Dick could be seen making an “unusual choice” of sandwich for a children’s party.

The Channel 4 star made rose petal and honey sandwiches with his wife and children with many on Twitter responding to the strange recipe.

They were getting ready for a party they were hosting for their children, taking place at the 45-bedroom Chateau de la Motte Husson in Pays de la Loire.

Dick said: “This is a sandwich that I have never seen anywhere before other than when Mummy makes it.”

Rose then showed her children Arthur and Dorothy how to make the sandwiches.

The family then all tried the sandwiches, with Dorothy liking the invention.

Fans of the show took to Twitter to express their opinion on the new sandwich.

Sewingyorkie said: “Rose petal sandwiches, unusual choice for a children’s picnic #notsure #escapetothechatau.”

Chuckles33 added: “Never had the opportunity to taste a rose petal sandwich… but equally not sure I need to. #EscapetotheChataeu.”

Su_Martin_ continued: “Honey & rose petal sandwich.

“This is something I need to try #EscapetotheChatau.”

Dick and Angel have lived at their French chateau for six years.

During this time, they’ve been renovating their dream home and taking viewers along with them on their Channel 4 show.

Escape to the Chateau continues on Channel 4 every Sunday at 8pm.
