Victoria Beckham has insisted that she will always support her children after months of talk about a possible feud between the fashion designer and her daughter-in-law.
The mum-of-four, 48, opened up about the “support” she has for her eldest son Brooklyn Beckham amid speculation that she has fallen out with his wife Nicola Peltz.
Victoria and her daughter-in-law, 27, were reported to be feuding following the couple’s wedding back in April.
Speaking on the Armchair Expert podcast with Dax Shephard, Victoria said: “We're so close to our children, I think it's all about communication.
“You're just trying to do the best that you can as a parent and support your kids. You want them to be happy, hard-working, good, kind human beings.
“But ultimately, you know, the kids have got to do what they're going to do. You've just got to be there to support them and love them.”
Rumours of a feud between Victoria and Nicola began after the US actress wore a wedding dress designed by Valentino, despite having initially organised for Victoria’s fashion house to create a gown for her.
Nicola later shared her side of the story, explaining in October that Victoria’s atelier wasn’t able to make the wedding dress despite their initial promise to.
The screen star said that “no family is perfect” as she said she thinks this is what sparked rumours of a fallout between herself and the former Spice Girl started.
Nicola insisted: “I think it all started, and I've said this before, because I didn't end up wearing Victoria's wedding dress, but the real truth is, I really, really wanted to wear it and I thought it was so beautiful that Brooklyn's mom got to make that for me!
"And I was really excited to wear it! And I didn't end up wearing it.”
The actress added: “But I, truthfully, was really excited to wear her dress. It makes me sad when I read things that people say I was never planning on wearing it. That's just not true.”
While Victoria has not publicly addressed the feud rumours, eldest son Brooklyn, 23, previously agreed with his wife, as he also denied any fractured relationship between the two.
Last month, he told Bustle: “It [the feud] goes everywhere and everyone talks about it,” Brooklyn said, adding that everyone gets along “fine.”
