The Wanted star Jay McGuiness has taken to social media and broken his silence following the tragic death of bandmate Tom Parker late last month.
Tom died last month aged 33 after being diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2020.
Jay, 31, took to his Instagram to share a heartfelt post with his 240k followers in memory of Tom.
He shared a black and white picture of Tom and heartbreakingly wrote: “I miss you so much”.
The post read: “Tom, I miss you so much. I don’t know where you are now, but I am so honoured we got to spend time together on earth. An honour.
“I keep reminding myself to be grateful for that time, and I really really am. I am.
“You knew how to live life, fearlessly and with heart. You were so reassuring to be around.”
The singer went on to reminisce over Tom’s short but full life.
He said: “What a man. I can’t believe that it’s all memories now, every single memory now is priceless. Life is a gift and you made use of yours in the most powerful ways, you made your dreams come true, you found the love of your life, you brought two beautiful humans down to earth, you sang so so powerfully and beautifully and that will never die.”
The heartfelt tribute continued: “Everyone remembers the day they met you. You didn’t slip into anyone’s life quietly, you hit them like a ton of bricks and looked them square in the eyes. You talked to absolutely everyone as if they were no more and no less than you. What a man.”
Jay has been fairly quiet since the death of Tom but ended his personal tribute emphasising how much he misses his bandmate and friend.
The tribute concluded: “You really took your place in the world and you are so loved. I just wish you had more time, that’s selfish. You did amazing things. I just miss you.
“Thank you for always being there for me, without fail, always turning up, always looking out, always setting me straight lol. Ok enough. Give ‘em Hell.”
I love you forever. from JayBird”
Fellow The Wanted band member Nathan Sykes also paid a heart-breaking tribute to his "brother" following Tom’s death.
He shared a behind-the-scenes video ofthe final time Tom joined them on stage as part of The Wanted.
"I can't begin to express how I feel right now," Nathan began. "This video was taken during our last performance together in Liverpool just 2 weeks ago that will stay with me forever."
Nathan emotionally continued: "Tom was the most passionate, funny, driven and inspiring person you could wish to meet and I'm so grateful that I was given the honour of being a part of his journey, and even more grateful I can call him my friend as well as one of four brothers."
