Strictly Come Dancing viewers have claimed that Shirley Ballas has “issues” with professional Karen Hauer after she and her partner Greg Wise were voted off in last night’s dance-off.

Fans of the BBC One show took to social media following the result to air their views, with many saying they feel head judge Shirley has a gripe with Venezuelan-American dancer Karen.

One wrote on Twitter: “Shirley and Karen have issues I’m too busy watching Karen’s reaction to what Shirley says”.

Another added: “For a couple of series now, I have got the feeling that Shirley doesn’t like Karen.

“Shirley criticises Greg saying it’s week 4 and he shouldn’t be making mistakes, yet for others she said it’s only week 4 and mistakes are made.”

They added a shrugging shoulders emoji next to their comment.

A third wrote: “Felt sorry for them. Karen looks stunning, loving the outfits this week.

"I feel Shirley has a definite gripe with Karen and you could see Karen’s eyes flash when she was speaking to them! Awkward!”

Karen and actor Greg found themselves in the bottom two following their Samba to the Macarena during week four of the competition.

They went up against comedian and Loose Women Judi Love and her professional partner Grazino Di Prima, who performed a Waltz to Mariah Carey’s Hero.

Whilst judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke opted to save Judi, Shirley, 61, admitted that if she had been able to vote she would have chosen to save Greg and Karen.

But fans of the programme weren’t convinced, with one writing following the decision: “Easy for Shirley to say she would have saved Greg when she has been harsher on him cos of her issues with Karen…she would’ve paid for taxi home! #Strictly”.

Karen is the longest serving professional on the show after fellow pro Anton moved to the judging seat to replace Bruno Tonioli for this series.

The 39 year old joined the cast in 2012, a year before her former husband Kevin Clifton.

Karen’s highest finish on the show came last year when she was partnered with Made In Chelsea star Jamie Laing.

The pair reached the final of the competition and finished in the runner-up position alongside EastEnders actress Maisie Smith and singer HRVY.

And Karen and Shirley butted heads on the 2020 series, with Karen hitting back at Shirley’s criticism of herself and Jamie’s tango.

After Shirley said she wanted to see “musicality” from the reality star, Karen said on Strictly spin-off It Takes Two: “"Funnily enough, I thought his musicality was right on point.

“Maybe she wanted him to elongate a bit more but… if he wasn't in on his music, I wasn't in on my music."
