ICYMI, the trailer for Volume 2 of the latest season of Stranger Things dropped yesterday (21 June) and we’re concerned for the welfare of *all* the characters. Is anyone in Hawkins safe? Probably not. As we emotionally prepare for the final two episodes of the season (due to land on Netflix very soon), it appears that fans are worried about two characters, in particular: Robin Buckley and Steve Harrington.
The pair (played by Maya Hawke and Joe Keery) are certified fan favorites, who become friends in season three having worked in Scoops Ahoy, the mall’s ice cream parlor, and cracking a secret code (with the help of Dustin, ofc) to uncover an international conspiracy. So far in season four of the show, things haven’t got much easier for them: Robin hasn’t landed a date with Vicky, Steve is still struggling with his feelings for Nancy (AKA Natalia Dyer), and, well… there’s Vecna to sort out.
And – judging by the trailer – fans think it’s about to get even worse.
In the trailer, Robin says to Steve, “I have this terrible feeling it might not work out for us this time,” which many fans have interpreted as a sign the pair isn’t coming out of season four unscathed. One person shared a screengrab of the trailer on Twitter, commenting, “ROBIN SAYING THIS WHILE THE CAMERA FOCUS ON HER AND STEVE PLEASE DON’T MANIFEST THIS ON EARTH I CAN’T LOSE YOU GUYS.”
Another fan was similarly alarmed, tweeting, “yeah it’s not looking good for my girl. robin buckley get behind me!,” while one person added, “If Steve Harrington dies I’m coming for you @netflix.”

The latest installment of Stranger Things is due to drop on Netflix on 1 July. In the meantime, we’ll be keeping Robin and Steve in our prayers.
