Stacey Solomon, 31, who is heavily pregnant with her and Joe Swash’s second baby together, has detailed her plans for a potential home birth. The mum-of-four explained she and her fiancé are considering a home birth for the first time due to their health concerns about going to a hospital during the coronavirus pandemic.
Stacey, who is mum to Zachary, 13, Leighton, nine, from previous relationships, and Rex, two, with Joe, said she and her beau are still weighing up their options.
“The birth – it is still something we are talking about,” the star explained.
Stacey went on to detail her anxieties surrounding giving birth, as she admitted she needs to have her mum by her side.
The former X Factor contestant said: “I wouldn’t be able to have my mum there, my mum has been there for every other birth, which sounds sad because I am 31 years old but I feel like she won’t let me die and she has always been there.
“We are looking at our options for a home birth.”
Detailing the pros and cons of giving birth at home, Stacey added to the Standard: “It lessens the Covid risk… but then there is the risk if you need to be blue lighted in and there is an emergency.
“It is trying to weigh up those options. I have never considered it this much before.
“I feel like, Joe won’t be able to come in until the last minute, mum won’t be there, there is the risk of getting Covid…
“I don’t know how comfortable I feel,” she divulged, while discussing the issues the couple could face with a hospital birth amid the pandemic.
It comes after Joe, who is also dad to son Harry, 14, from a previous relationship, declared their blended family would be complete when they welcome their first baby girl this year.
Addressing the moment he and the Loose Women panellist learnt they were expecting a girl, the star admitted he welled up.
Joe said to The Sun: “When we found out we was having a girl I did feel slightly emotional, I did tear up and so did Stacey.(sic)
