Princess Eugenie has revealed her grandfather Prince Philip gifted her a touching handmade gift for her wedding day.

Eugenie, 31, wed Jack Brooksbank in a gorgeous ceremony in October 2018. Nearly three years later Philip passed away at the age of 99 in April this year.

And now, as she remembered her beloved grandfather in a one-off documentary, she recalled the touching gift she and Jack received from the Duke of Edinburgh.

Speaking in the BBC One doc, titled Prince Philip: The Royal Family Remembers, she revealed Philip gifted her a touching handmade painting of a bunch of flowers which he had created.

Eugenie revealed both she and her grandfather Philip shared a passion for painting, which she didn't discover until she was around 16 years of age.

She recalled: "He painted me a painting of a bunch of flowers and gave it to me for my wedding.

"It was so nice, it's now sitting in my house in London and I'm so proud of it, you know?"

The Princess also discussed paying tribute to Prince Philip as she named her son August, following his birth in February this year.

Eugenie also took her baby son to visit Prince Philip to meet him shortly before his death.

She recalled: "We named August, August Philip, because Grandpa has ben such a huge, inspiring character in my life," Eugenie paused as she held back tears.

The Princess added: "I brought little August to come and meet him and told him that we named him after him and it was such a lovely moment."

Eugenie added through tears: "I'm very lucky to do that."

Royal fans were incredibly touched as they watched the tribute special to the Duke of Edinburgh on Wednesday 22 September.

One fan wrote: "Beautiful documentary. Touching, funny and sweet memories of a remarkable man. #PrincePhilip".

Another added: "what a lovely and heartfelt tribute. It’s clear there was so much love and affection especially from his grandchildren."
