Nick and Joe Jonas are the latest musicians to share that they auditioned for the Wicked movie adaptation!

The Jonas Brothers singers and actors opened up about going out for the same role during a recent appearance on Dax Shepard‘s The Armchair Expert podcast.

During the podcast, Joe revealed that he was jealous Nick got the coaching job on The Voice, and that he cried while at a Fleetwood Mac concert over it.

“It was at the most picturesque setting, it was at the Fleetwood Mac show at [Madison Square Garden] and as they’re playing ‘Landslide,’ I found out that he was going to be a judge on The Voice,” he said. “I was so jealous I cried my eyes out to ‘Landslide.’ It was bittersweet, of course, ’cause I’m super happy for him, but I’m also bummed ’cause I want that f—ing gig!”

Kevin explained that Joe really wanted it because he did The Voice Australia and loved it, so he wanted to do it again.

“I just enjoyed the job, so I was like, what the f—?” Joe added. “But he crushed it and, you know, it was great.”

Then the guys dished on being competitive, including when it comes to film and TV projects, but they “always say we want someone with the last name Jonas to win. That’s our goal.”

Then Nick shared that he and Joe auditioned for Wicked, and while he didn’t mention the exact role by name, it’s presumed they were going out for the male lead, Fiyero, which Jonathan Bailey of course landed.

“We both auditioned for the same role, Joe and I. It was for Wicked, actually. And we were going into it… and naturally, we’re brothers, we’re competitive in sports and other things, but when it comes to our career, I think we genuinely both looked at each other like…”

Joe chimed in with, “Yeah, we said, ‘Go in there and kill it ’cause it’s gotta be one of us. It has to be one of us.’ That being said, never got that call…”

Nick and Joe aren’t the only former Disney stars who auditioned for the Wicked movie!
