Lorraine Kelly, 63, spoke out in response to a fan after her interview with Paris Hilton was criticised as “peculiar” by some online users. The ITV host welcomed the billionaire heiress to her show earlier today as the American socialite continues to promote her memoir.
Lorraine responded to a Twitter post from a viewer claiming Paris had not been “very forthcoming” during the chat.
Lozzerclark wrote: “@reallorraine I think you did really well on the Paris interview, she was not very forthcoming !!!”
Retweeting the message, Lorraine simply added: “Cheers!”
KarenBr08786522 chimed in: “#lorraine such a strange interview with Paris Hilton – Paris hardly said a word? It was very peculiar.”
Fun4gal added: “Was it really worth Paris being on the show ?
“She hardly said a word and just talked over when asked anything #lorraine#parishilton”
JenLucie1 typed: “Lorraine did amazing tell Paris how amazing she was and her sitting back and just listening!! Seriously what was the point!?”
The backlash comes after Lorraine’s show was sent into chaos last week as the star lost her voice.
Dr Hillary Jones was forced to step in and read out what was coming up on her ITV show due to Lorraine struggling to speak.
Lorraine held up a card which revealed she had lost her voice as Good Morning Britain hosts Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway crossed over to find out what was coming up on her show on Thursday.
It was up to Dr Hillary Jones to go through the rundown of the show’s itinerary.
Lorraine could be seen holding up a card, which read: “See you at 9.”

Ben asked: “Lorraine, have you been shouting at the Chancellor, is that what’s happened?”
Despite the struggle, the ITV host could be seen nodding as Kate burst out laughing.
However, the GMB star went on to comment: “I don’t like the idea that female presenters are reduced to writing things on cards.
“Ben will bring this in and we’ll be silenced Lorraine.”
Kate added: “Let’s hope Hillary has the trick and she can get your voice back enough for the show later.”
Ben laughed: “That’s going to be a thoroughly entertaining hour with Lorraine and no voice.”
“It will be like she’s got subtitles on won’t it,” Kate joked.
Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV from 9am.
