Hollywood star Florence Pugh is no stranger to body-shaming comments, after stepping out in a series of stylish sheer outfits.
The 27-year-old film star has now spoken to fellow actress Jodie Turner-Smith for the October issue of Elle UK and has given her take on why she thinks people criticise her.
She said: “It’s the freedom that people are scared of, the fact I’m comfortable and happy.
“Keeping women down by commenting on their bodies has worked for a very long time.”
Before going on to say: “Unfortunately, we’ve become so terrified of the human body that we can’t even look at my two little cute nipples behind fabric in a way that isn’t sexual.”

Florence’s comments come after she faced criticism for the sheer gown she wore to the Valentino Fall/Winter Haute Couture show in 2022.
The Black Widow star left little to the imagination as she wore the transparent hot pink dress with nothing underneath but a pair of knickers.
During the interview, she also discussed how she always wanted to make a statement with her clothing choices.

She said: “When I was a teenager I would buy the most outrageous things and sew them together. I’ve always loved colour.
“When I first started doing red carpets, it was really tough. It takes ages to feel comfortable with 50 men all shouting ‘Picture, over here!’”
Before adding: ”I’ve become more confident in the last few years, and I think that’s hugely linked to the clothes I’ve been wearing.”
Florence has also proven that the criticism hasn’t put her off from wearing daring outfits.
She arrived at Paris Fashion Week earlier this summer wearing another transparent lilac tulle dress featuring a plunging neckline, bow detail and low back.
Posting to her 9.3 million followers on Instagram, she shared images of her outfit, which she paired with black platform heels and a muted pink buzz cut.
Fans were quick to praise the actress, with one saying: “Idk how u do it but you always tend to devour every look” (sic) and another commenting: “Florence you look like a princess”.
Before a third chimed in: “The perfect colour and the perfect fabric. Just gorgeous!!!!”
Florence is set to receive the British Icon award at the Elle Style Awards, due to take place on September 5.
