Strictly: Ellie Taylor and Johannes Radebe eliminated

Strictly Come Dancing 2022 contestant Ellie Taylor announced last week that she is expecting her second child with her husband, Phil Black.

The comedian, 39, married the CNN reporter, 43, in 2015 and welcomed their daughter, Valentina, in 2018.

However, their union is all down to a chance meeting in a Central London lift years earlier.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, Ellie confirmed that she had broken up with her boyfriend and was intending to be single for a while.

Then a few days later, she took the lift in her office and Phil got in too.

She joked on stage at Live At The Apollo in 2016: “Hot guy gets in the lift and presses level one. We’re only on the ground floor, he’s only going up one level, lazy…

“Hot guy puts out his hand to introduce himself and says, ‘Hi, I’m Phil’, and six years later I married him.”

In a new interview, Ellie mused: “That’s all true, I used to work in the same office as him. Sometimes life is helpful for coming up with material.”

Last week, the Ted Lasso star unveiled her blossoming baby bump as she announced her pregnancy on Instagram.

She shared a sweet snap with her daughter, along with the caption: “Excited. Terrified. Grateful.”

In a second slide, Ellie wrote a thoughtful message for her 258,000 followers. She said: “Pregnancy has been a funny old topic for me over the last few years, and I’ve sometimes found it tricky following prego people online.

“For anyone in a similar headspace, if the idea of the inevitable baby spam that will follow makes you feel a bit weird, then I lovingly encourage you to be kind to your brainbox and mute or unfollow me.

“I hope you’ll be back but whatever your situation, I wish you love and clarity as you continue to navigate your own journey.”

It comes as Ellie has teamed up with Alpro to encourage the nation to break up their mundane breakfast habits and put variety back into their diets.

In research from the brand, a fifth of Brits admitted to rushing and oversleeping in the mornings and it is estimated that we eat the same breakfast 203 times a year.

Ellie said: “As a self-proclaimed brekkie fanatic, I know that what I eat and what I consume online during the morning can set my mood for the rest of my day. The research showed that too many of us are getting off to the wrong start each day, which is why I’m on a mission alongside Alpro to help Brits shake up their breakfast routines.”

Ellie Taylor is working with Alpro, the plant based pioneer, to encourage Brits to switch up their breakfast routine to help set themselves up to be the best versions of themselves throughout the day.
