Exes Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello were photographed out together in Miami earlier this month, and now, Cabello is publicly adding fuel to the fire that their relationship is still very chummy post-breakup. Cabello left a telling comment on Mendes’s most recent Instagram post. The video Mendes shared features him teasing new music. He captioned it, “y’all dig this ?”

Cabello playfully commented, “Ur crazy wildcat.” Buzzfeed noted it as a reference to High School Musical and a quote Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens) told her love interest Troy (Zac Efron) in the movie.

Mendes and Cabello announced their breakup in late November. The two had dated for over two years and were longtime friends before that prior to the split. They stressed their intentions to remain friends in the breakup announcement they both shared to their respective Instagram Stories.

They wrote, “Hey guys, we’ve decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever ❤️ We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward ❤️❤️❤️”

Shortly after they each shared the news, a source told E! that Mendes “initiated the [breakup] conversation” with Cabello in early November. Although she was “very upset over the split,” she “agreed” it was for the best. They are “still in communication and want to be friends,” the source said. “[It] was not a bad breakup at all. The relationship was getting stale and complacent and they decided they are better off being friends.”

Following the breakup, Mendes and Cabello have both been open about how hard it is to be on social media. They’ve also been supportive of each other on IG, liking the other’s posts. Cabello has liked Mendes’ posts about his post-breakup music before too. Notably, she double tapped on his Instagram about his breakup song seemingly about her, titled “It’ll Be Okay.”
