Better Call Saul has had viewers hooked since its 2015 premiere. A spinoff of AMC’s Breaking Bad, it tells the story of Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk), a do-good lawyer who gradually transforms into the seedy attorney we met in the first series.
Better Call Saul has scores of fans and consistently ranks as one of the best television shows of all time. But Odenkirk took the fandom to a new level when he got a Better Call Saul-themed tattoo etched onto his body.
‘Better Call Saul’ is one of Bob Odenkirk’s biggest gigs
Odenkirk has been attached to popular programs such as Saturday Night Live, The Ben Stiller Show, and Late Night with Conan O’Brien. But his big break came when he was cast in Breaking Bad, which ran from 2008 to 2013.
Odenkirk rose to greater heights on its spinoff, garnering widespread praise for his level of performance as the antihero lawyer, awards recognition, and a solid fanbase. Looking at the ways Better Call Saul changed his life, it makes sense that Odenkirk would want to commemorate it in some way. But the tattoo he got is a shocker.

In 2018, ahead of the fourth season, Odenkirk attended the Television Critics Association press tour, where he spoke about the show. But then things got awkward.
“I wanted to show you guys something. This is exciting for me. I’m sorry. I got a tattoo…” Odenkirk said, dropping his pants to reveal the ink (via IndieWire). “All my life, I’m trying to think, like, what do I care about enough to get it, like, eternally marked on my a**. And so, I finally had something.”
He continued, explaining: “I’m a real company man, and I was just thinking, I want everyone to know it’s coming back. It was such a long wait. Where can I put the information that a lot of people will see it? So, there you go.”
But to note, Odenkirk mentioned in a later appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that the tattoo was only temporary — at least, it was supposed to be.
Other actors in the ‘Breaking Bad’ universe have also gotten tattoos to commemorate the show
Yep, Odenkirk isn’t the only one with a tattoo.
Bryan Cranston, who played Walter White in Breaking Bad, paid tribute to the show with a tattoo of its logo on one of his fingers. He told Magic Radio he strategically had it placed on the inner part so that it’s easy to hide. “This is for me,” he explained. “To remind me of the journey that I was on and what it created for me in opportunities and work.”
Cranston’s co-star Aaron Paul, who starred on the show as Jesse Pinkman, also got a tattoo in honor of Breaking Bad. His ink says “No Half Measures,” which is also the name of an episode in the third season.
