The trailer for the upcoming YA rom-com Love In Taipei just debuted!
The Paramount+ movie is based on the New York Time’s best-selling novel “Loveboat, Taipei,” by author Abigail Hing Wen, who also serves as an executive producer on the film.
“Creating the Loveboat series has been a labor of love for me, from penning three books, to bringing incredible talent on board, to filming on set in Taipei,” Abigail shared in a statement. “I couldn’t be more thrilled to see this world brought to life on screen in Love in Taipei. Ever, Rick, Xavier and Sophie, excellently portrayed by the most phenomenal cast, will make you fall in love with the story all over again, and I cannot wait for audiences to watch the film this August on Paramount+.”

Love In Taipei follows Ever Wong (Ashley Liao), whose summer takes an unexpected turn when her parents surprise her with a trip to Taipei for a cultural immersion program. Ever is surprised to discover that she hasn’t signed up for homework and history lessons, but instead for a summer-long free-for-all the locals and other students call “Loveboat.” It quickly lives up to its name when Ever finds herself trying not to fall for two attractive but wildly different boys who are vying for her attention, while at the same time finding the courage to defy her parents’ high expectations and pursue her true passion: dancing.
Also starring in the movie are Ross Butler as Rick Woo, Nico Hiraga as Xavier Yeh, Chelsea Zhang as Sophie and Cindy Cheung as Aunt Shu.
