In couture, it's a commonly traded anecdote that professional sewers are working on the priceless, entirely handmade creations of legendary designers up until mere minutes before they're revealed to the world. At New York Fashion Week, the collections may not have been officially defined as "haute couture" by the governing body of the Chambre Syndicale, but painstaking attention to detail nonetheless required production teams to add their final touches in the very seconds prior to sending models down the runway.
For Markarian, which showed its Fall/Winter 2022 collection last week during NYFW, that pursuit of perfection extended to models' lashes and nails. For these key components, Markarian, worn by everyone from Priyanka Chopra to Jill Biden, put its trust in the drugstore brand Kiss, according to the brand's PR.
Celebrity nail artist Gina Edwards outfitted models with pearled, bedazzled, and jewel-toned nails, using Kiss' Salon Acrylic Natural glue-on nails, which she embellished with Kiss' Jewel Accents rhinestones and more. The opulent details complemented the collection's equally sequin-studded, more-is-more pieces that celebrated the dopamine dressing trend that's taking over closets everywhere.

Where the nails went wild, the eye story kept things more natural.
