A TRAVEL expert has revealed how she always manages to take extra luggage on Ryanair flights, without spending loads on fees.
Flying with budget airlines can be cheap, but only if you understand how to avoid the costs that they use to ramp up the prices.
One such cost is for baggage, which can be more expensive than it needs to be, if you're not careful.
However, Tiktoker and travel blogger Rachel Cryan (@adventurewithcryan) revealed how passengers can get extra luggage while still dodging some fees with Ryanair.
She explained that, when booking on the airline's website, it pays to be patient instead of selecting the extra luggage the first time you're offered it.
In a video on Tiktok, Rachel said: "If you're planning on traveling solo with Ryanair, this is a really easy way to save money.

"Don't select your baggage at the beginning [of the booking process].
"That option was £23.50 to add a 10kg bag on and a seat allocation.
"What's the point of having a seat allocation?
"You want to skip this step and then go on to the next step. And that's where you can add your bag for £12.50, saving £11."

For passengers willing to be a little riskier, there's always sneaky methods that they can use to get extra luggage on board planes.
These can include extra luggage being stuffed into pillow cases or hidden in smaller concealed bags.
The airline posted a video on X, formerly known as Twitter, last year, joking that they would start charging for extra items.
They said: "Neck pillow: €5. Triple layers: €17.50. Carry-on pillow: €24.99. Emotional baggage €0.00."
However, flight attendants have hinted that passengers can get away with the hacks, if they're careful.
Sun Online Travel's resident flight attendant said: "It's a money making scheme, and the fact that every single passenger has the option to bring more luggage onto the aircraft shows that there's probably enough room."
They added: "As long as a bag has been checked by the security scanners, I'm fine with it being on the plane, whether it's been paid for or not."
