Travelling from Southampton, Sky Princess will head south to France and Portugal, sailing around the Algarve and the Spanish Costas.

First stop is the French town of La Rochelle before the ship skims the Bay of Biscay to northern Spain for Basque culture in Bilbao.

It’s a short voyage to the next port of call at the Portuguese capital  Lisbon, prior to skirting the dramatic sandstone shores of the Algarve.

The ship next calls at the grand Spanish city of Seville, famous for its orange blossom, flamenco and as the launch-point for Columbus’s voyage to the New World.

Then it’s time to head for the rock of Gibraltar and watch for dolphins in the Gibraltar Strait.

The cruise slows to catch the rays along the Costa del Sol, stopping in lively Malaga for the day and then Andalucia’s unspoilt Costa Almeria.

Then it’s onwards into the sun-soaked Costa Calida and the natural harbour of Cartegena.

Passengers can enjoy a few more days on board as Sky Princess cruises back to Southampton via the port of  Vigo.

Here, holidaymakers can savour a last taste of Spanish seafood and sandy beaches.

On days in port, passengers are free to explore on their own or book an excursion organised by the crew.

Stays on the ship are in en suite cabins with modern technology, luxurious furnishings and smart storage that makes the most of the space.

The Sky Princess, one of the newest ships in the fleet, has jazz bar Take Five, French restaurant Bistro La Sur Mer and the WakeView bar and pool.

It also features Princess’s unique Ocean Medallion technology — a wearable medallion replacing  traditional key cards that can be used for everything from room entry to contactless payments on board.
