AN outraged wife has revealed how her husband insists on flying first class while leaving her and their kids in economy.
The unhappy spouse said her partner believes it would be too expensive for them to both have luxurious seats – and might leave their children, 12 and 16, "feeling alone".
In a letter to The New York Times Magazine, the woman said she views her husband's behaviour as "unfair".
She wrote: "My husband loves to travel and always either pays for, or gets an upgrade into, the first-class cabin.
"When we travel together with our children, he buys himself a ticket in first class and puts us in economy or economy plus.
"He even did this recently on an overnight flight to Paris."

The disgruntled wife said after she brought up the issue, her husband suggested catching a different flight ahead of them so they wouldn't "feel badly about the disparity".
She added: "But this does not really address or solve the problem of the inherent selfishness in his thinking.
"We are happy to travel, and love going places together, but it is still very strange."
The woman's letter has left readers reeling and even insisting she should file for divorce.

One person wrote: "I wouldn’t go to the grocery store with that man, much less an overnight flight to Paris. Appalling behaviour."
Another added: "Honey, may I suggest a good divorce lawyer? You are married to someone who sees you as ‘The Help’."
A third commented: "Your husband appears to be a narcissist, who loves and cares only for himself."
It comes after another woman sparked controversy online by revealing that her husband paid for him and his friend to sit in first class on a flight – but only paid for her to sit in economy.
The man and his friend would often go away together to watch sporting events, meaning that he and his wife rarely had the chance to go on holidays.
However, this time he offered to bring her along for the journey, only for it to end in tears.
When the woman found out she would be sitting in economy while her husband and his friend enjoyed the luxuries of first class, she refused to go on the trip.
She then told her story on Reddit, to ask for advice and to see if others felt she had acted unreasonably.
She wrote: "My husband and I haven't been on a trip (out of country) for years. while he goes every year with his best friend. His reasons for going with him is because they both go to attend sporting events.
"This year, my husband told me I could go with him and his friend since they were visiting a new destination. He paid for my ticket and everything else since I'm a stay at home mum and have no job. the kids were left with my mum.
