Wendy Williams is returning to the purple chair.
After delaying the Season 13 premiere of her eponymous daytime talk show for “ongoing health issues,” Williams will return to TV next Monday, Oct. 4, her show’s social media account announced.
“THE WAIT IS OVER! Season 13 starts MONDAY,” the caption to a promo reel read. “You don’t wanna miss it!”
Her co-hosts — the name she gives her fans — are likely clamoring for the premiere to see if Williams will address the goings-on in her life during her beloved “Hot Topics” segment, from her breakthrough case of COVID-19 to being taken to the hospital for a mental health check.
Following her hospitalization and divorce from ex-husband Kevin Hunter, a source told Page Six that Williams has become lonely.
“It has been a very difficult time for Wendy. She’s a single woman with very few friends. She lost her marriage, her mom, and is living alone,” our source shared.
“There is a lot on her plate.”
Last week, a source familiar with production told us that the 57-year-old “How You Doin?” host was ready to get back to work after her health scares.
“Wendy is on the mend, and doing well. There was a meeting this week, and [execs] assured staff the show will return on Oct. 4., and Wendy is ready to get back to work,” a source familiar with the production told us.
Williams has been frank with her audience in the past about her ongoing battle with Graves disease and substance abuse issues but has only communicated through Instagram posts about her current health woes.
Meanwhile, Williams’ brother, Tommy, provided an update on his sister on his YouTube channel, saying he had “faith that Wendy’s going to make it” and described her condition as “stable.”
“I’ve spoken with her … she’s hanging in there. We’re praying, she’s fighting,” he said.
