Prince Harry and Meghan Markle revealed their 2021 Christmas card to the world on Thursday 23 December.

The festive card features an adorable snap of Harry and Meghan along with their two children, Archie, two, and six-month-old Lilibet.

The new photograph marks the first time the public have seen baby Lilibet, who was born earlier this year.

While Archie has featured on the couple's holiday cards in 2019 and 2020, most fans will notice that Harry, 37, and Meghan, 40, are keen to keep their children's identities out of the limelight.

The Sussexes use a clever trick to maintain their two children's privacy, which Elizabeth Holmes, author of HRH: So Many Thoughts on Royal Style, has picked up on.

She recently took to Instagram to point out the couple's clever trick, and she believes it's the perfect way to ensure their fans get a glimpse of the royal children while also protecting their privacy.

Elizabeth wrote on Instagram:"This is an absolutely GENIUS way to share their kiddo for the first time ever (for Lili)/a long time (for Archie) because we can see *just enough* of them."

She added, "We know kiddo privacy is huge for H&M and by showing their faces in profile (rather than directly to the camera) helps maintain that as much as they possibly can."

Elizabeth took to Instagram to gush over the pair's Christmas card, branding it "perfect".

The author praised the couple of her Instagram Stories, writing: "I love love love how Harry and Meghan share the spotlight of their holiday card by giving it to charity orgs they support to release instead of just blasting it out themselves.

"This year is an especially major moment – first Lili pic! – and so they spread the love around and made donations, too."

Fans have been quick to comment on the Christmas card too, with many gushing over two year old Archie's "incredible" red hair, the same as his father's famous locks.

The sweet photograph featuring on the card was captured by Harry and Meghan's wedding photographer, Alexi Lubomirski.

The Sussexes' adorable festive card reads: "Happy Holidays. This year, 2021, we welcomed our daughter, Lilibet, to the world. Archie made us a 'Mama' and a 'Papa', and Lili made us a family.

"As we look forward to 2022, we have made donations on your behalf to several organizations that honor and protect families – from those being relocated from Afghanistan, to American families in need of paid parental leave: Team Rubicon, Welcome.US, Human First Coalition, Humanity Crew & Paid Leave For All, PL+US, Marshall Plan for Moms.

"Wishing you a happy holiday season and a prosperous New Year, from our family to yours! As ever, Harry, Meghan, Archie & Lili."
