We love to hear which skincare products get the seal of approval from the experts – and especially ones that don’t cost an arm and a leg, either. And that’s exactly what you get with the new Sali Hughes x Revolution Skincare collection.

Beauty author, influencer and all-round expert Sali has partnered with the affordable brand to create her first range of skincare products, which launches today (28 April) on Revolution’s website and in Superdrug. Cruelty-free, vegan and everything priced between £10-£15, the six products are what Sali terms “the perfect white T-shirt of skincare” – simple, reliable and effective.

“I meet people all the time whose skins are in meltdown from using too many incompatible active ingredients in too high levels, that demand too much insider knowledge and energy,” Sali says, explaining how she felt there was a need for “a simple, low maintenance but active routine for busy beauty lovers, who don’t have the time to turn their bathrooms into science labs”.

The collection launches with two cleansers, a serum, an exfoliant and a face cream, with another moisturiser coming in a few weeks, and all are designed to slot easily into your existing routine. Here’s what to *add to basket* immediately.

Butterclean Makeup Meltdown Cleansing Balm, £15 here

A rich balm made with squalane, shea butter and jojoba oil that’s designed to be makeup-removing first cleanse. The texture melts into the skin and makes short work of even the most stubborn mascara, and it has a subtle floral fragrance.

Clean Sheet Morning Cleanser, £10 here

As the name suggests, this gel-to-milk cleanser makes a great morning cleanse, or a second cleanse in the evening, and will leave your face feeling fresh without drying out the skin. Sali likes to apply it to dry skin, add a little water then remove it with a flannel, although she explains that it can also be used in the shower if you’re short on time.

Placid 5 Acid Daily Exfoliant, £14 here

Combining lactic, malic, salicylic, glycolic and tranexamic acids to exfoliate and give skin a glow, while hyaluronic acid ensures it also remains hydrating on the skin. Sali says uses hers three mornings a week, although it’s gentle enough to be used every day.

Must-C Anytime Daily Serum, £15 here

“I felt that there was a gap in the market for a vitamin C serum that did more than just deliver vitamin C,” Sali says in a video posted to her Instagram account. It contains 15% vitamin C plus niacinamide and hydrating glycerin, can be used morning and night, and seems to instantly give the skin a more even appearance.

Cream Drench Rich Anytime Moisturiser, £14 here

A rich, velvety moisturiser for dry skin, packed with ceramides. It has a really unique texture on the skin – a smooth, primer-like feel created without the use of silicones (the entire Sali Hughes range is silicone-free, so no risk of it pilling). It’s this sensation that makes it an excellent makeup base.

Gel Quench Light Anytime Moisturiser, £14, launching soon

Containing similar skincare ingredients to Cream Drench but in a lightweight gel texture, making it ideal for combination skin types.
