Rock legend Neil Young is bringing his music catalogue back to SiriusXM after cutting ties with Spotify this week.
On Thursday, SiriusXM announced that “Neil Young Radio” will return to the satellite station to play the singer’s complete catalog — “from his solo albums to his work with Crosby Stills, Nash & Young to ‘Buffalo Springfield’ and ‘Crazy House,’ his latest album.”
Additionally, the service said, “listeners will also hear special programs including weekly concert broadcasts from Young’s vaults, celebrity guest DJs and a ‘Barn’ track-by-track album special featuring [Young] sharing stories about each song on his latest album,” they announced.
Young’s new album, “Barn,” was released last month with an accompanying film by the rocker’s wife, Daryl Hannah.
“I want to introduce you to some stuff that no one’s ever heard before,” Young said.
The move comes on the heels of Young giving Spotify an ultimatum: Remove the service’s superstar podcaster Joe Rogan or pull his music.
Young accused Rogan of spreading false information about COVID-19 vaccines, and described Spotify as, “the home of life threatening COVID misinformation” for airing the comedian’s podcast, in which they reportedly paid $100 million to exclusively steam.
“Lies being sold for money,” he wrote on his website. “They can have Rogan or Young. Not both,” he said.
They chose Rogan.
A spokesperson for Spotify said the company “regret[s] Neil’s decision to remove his music… but hope to welcome him back soon.”
Meanwhile, SiriusXM is welcoming him with open arms after his radio channel’s limited run in December.
“When you have an opportunity to present an iconic artist still at the height of his creativity, you don’t hesitate to do it again,” SiriusXM Senior VP and General Manager of Music Programming, Steve Blatter, said.
“Outspoken, brave, and a true music icon, Neil Young is in a rare class of artist, and we are honored to collaborate with him to create a special audio experience for his fans,” he concluded.
