A woman has told how her mum made an embarrassing mistake on her birth certificate but revealed the blunder ended up being a "huge blessing".
Sacha Rady, 26, was supposed to be named "Sasha" but while her first name is pronounced the same way as the traditional spelling, her mum made an error that left her legal name being spelt with a C instead.
The Brit-born real estate agent, who now lives in Atlanta, Georgia, took to her TikTok, @sacharealty, to tell the story behind her name.

She started by explaining how she was named after a Sasha doll, which she described as the "British equivalent to the American Girl Doll".
"Growing up my mum was super poor, she could never afford a Sasha doll so she said she was gonna name her first daughter Sasha," she said.
She went on to explain how Sasha is the female spelling of the name and while one simple letter change might not seem like a big mistake, it made a huge difference — leaving her with a man's name.
"My name is Sasha with a C, s-a-c-h-a, that is the Russian spelling for Alexander, Sacha," she explained.
Sacha said when she embarked on a career in corporate America she would often be mistaken for a man, which she thinks is because people associate her name with actor and comedian Sacha Baron Cohen.
She recalled: "When I was in corporate America, when I was emailing people everybody thought I was a man. They would reply back like 'Dear Sir, Hello Sir.'"
Being misgendered all the time because your parents spelt your name wrong might seem like a frustrating experience but Sacha refused to correct people mistaking her for a man.
Instead, she let them keep thinking she was a male — revealing it made people view her more favourably.
She added: "I just let that s**t ride. I'm a pretty dry and direct person and if a female is dry and direct in the corporate world you're a b**ch but since I was a man it was just another day in the office."
It turns out Sacha isn't the first woman to benefit from having a male name, her comment section was flooded by people who had similar experiences.
One person said: "Same! I use Sam and people always think I’m a man in emails."
In response, Sacha joked how maybe their male-sounding names were their "superpower".
Other women had similar stories, another said: "My name is Devin. Everyone thinks I’m a man when they receive my emails. They’re very surprised when I walk into the meeting though."
A third added: "I love being a female with a typical male name, just like you said for emails etc and being direct. love it! get it girl".
Someone else commented: "This is me with my name. Things definitely get done when they think you’re a man."
For some, going by a male name wasn't a mistake, with one person revealing how choosing to cut the female part from their name has helped them out in life.
She said: "My name is Kathryn Ebb King but I go by Ebb King. helped me a lot in jobs and buying cars."
