No more “Sweet Home Alabama.”
“Mama June” Shannon is moving back to Georgia with her husband, Justin Stroud, amid her daughter Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell’s battle with stage 4 cancer.
“We are definitely leaving Alabama,” the reality star told the US Sun Sunday.
“I’m in the process of leaving Alabama now, and I’m in the final steps of my legal issues, so we’ll definitely be going back to Georgia,” she continued, referencing her and her ex-boyfriend Geno Doak’s felony drug possession arrest in Alabama in 2019.
Shannon, 43, noted that she and Stroud, whom she married in March 2022, currently “split time between Alabama and Georgia.”
She explained that when they return to her home state, which she left in 2019, to “come help Anna and visit, [they] stay in an Airbnb.”
The “Mama June: Family Crisis” star also clarified that her formerly strained relationship with Cardwell was on the mend prior to the 28-year-old’s adrenal carcinoma diagnosis earlier this year.
“The relationship with Anna was actually working before she found out that she had cancer,” she told the outlet. “It didn’t just all of a sudden miraculously start working, like, [when] Anna had cancer.”
The “Toddlers & Tiaras” alum revealed Cardwell’s health scare in March, telling Page Six two months later that she does not know her eldest child’s life expectancy.

“Her cancer is very rare,” Shannon — who is also the mother of Jessica “Chubbs,” 26, Lauryn “Pumpkin,” 23, and Alana “Honey Boo Boo,” 17 — explained in May. “Only one in 1 million people get it.
“There [are] only a few doctors that treat it,” she continued, going on to describe Cardwell’s “very aggressive” chemotherapy treatment with a cancer specialist.
“If it’s not helping, then we go back to the drawing board, and we don’t know what the next step is,” she said at the time.
Cardwell wrote via Instagram on May 10 that the “chemo is working” and “things are looking good.”
The Walmart stocker is the mother of daughters Kaitlyn, 10, and Kylee, 7, with ex-husband Michael Cardwell. She has been dating Eldridge Toney since 2017.
