HOUSEHOLDS struggling to pay for energy bills have just two weeks left to get cold weather payments.

Residents on low incomes are entitled to £25 if it's below zero for more than seven days in a row, or it's forecast to be.

Thousands of households have already received extra cash to heat their homes so far this winter.

It runs until March 31, 2022 so families have just two weeks left to get the payments.

The scheme is designed to help struggling families with their energy bills when the temperature gets very low.

For each seven-day period of low temperatures, the payment is worth £25 and if you get certain benefits you should get the cash automatically.
