A number of Iceland and Boots stores will shut their doors for good this month.
Following the closure of two Boots stores in Wakefield, Yorkshire, this weekend, five more locations are expected to permanently shut this month.
The high street health and beauty retailer announced earlier this year that 300 of its stores would be shut down over a 12-month period.
Five locations have already ceased trading, with four more set to close this October.
Boots stores in Glastonbury and Uppingham Road, Leicester are scheduled to shut for good on October 13. The Kings Square, York, and Warminster locations are set to close on October 28.

A Boots spokesperson told Express.co.uk that all team members from these stores will be “offered alternative roles”.

- Uppingham Road, Leicester – October 12
- Glastonbury – October 13
- Kings Square, York – October 28
- Warminster – October 28

- Jardine Crescent, Coventry
- Guilford Road, Woking
- Windhill Road, Wakefield
- Upper Warrengate, Wakefield

Meanwhile, frozen supermarket chain Iceland is in its final phase of UK store closures.
According to Richard Walker, the executive chairman of Iceland Food, the string of closures this year were a part of the company’s strategy. Adding that some sites were shut down simply because “their leases expired”.
Citing changes in “local shopping patterns”, Iceland has closed 15 locations so far this year – with one to follow this October.
The Iceland store expected to close this month is the Trinity Street, Huddersfield premises, closing on October 28.
