For the past couple of weeks, celebrities have been wearing dad shoes and dad pants. 2021's version of Hot Girl Summer was definitely starting to look a little different than years past. That is, until Doja Cat performed at E11even, Miami's biggest club, while wearing the smallest brand imaginable (which coincidentally also makes the smallest bag and skirt) over the weekend.
While performing songs on stage from her latest album, Planet Her, Doja slipped on a pile of dollar bills for a now-viral fall that ignited Twitter. Naturally, she recovered flawlessly, but the move did distract people from discussing her truly iconic outfit — which featured some of the biggest summer trends that were also spotted on every runway during Miami Swim Week, fittingly.
Even though Doja performed at the most notorious nightclub in Miami (IYKYK), she wore a small brand you've likely seen on Instagram, Marshall Columbia. The brand's popular fashion editor-approved mini plush purse bag takes the pillow bag trend to new levels of fluffy. Doja could be seen swinging hers around stage while dancing, which means it's not only lightweight but also likely won't stay in stock for much longer. Celeb-approved bags for $210 don't come around too often, especially if they're also soft enough to sleep on and made by a small Brooklyn-based brand.
Doja also wore the cut-out trend that's slowly taking over, especially in Miami where it could be seen on every runway from the Destination Columbia show to Simonett. Both Doja's pink cut-out long-sleeve shirt and cut-out miniskirt were by Marshall Columbia, exclusively available at Ssense.
While her exact outfit is worth recreating and investing in, Nordstrom also has just under 100 cutout tops, many that are under $100. Some of them are understated enough to pair with Gigi Hadid's go-to dad pants, whereas others are basically begging to be worn out for a late night in Miami à la Doja. Regardless, she would clearly approve of all of them.
And what is a Vaxxed and Waxed Hot Girl Summer without a cutout top or two, right? All you need is a small plush bag to take a quick nap on in between clubs and you're set.
