Weeks after a judge ruled that her 13 year conservatorship would be terminated, Britney Spears is now on the path to freedom and has gained control of her estimated $60 million estate.

Set up by her father in 2008, the conservatorship had control over the 39 year old’s finances and career, as well as significant personal concerns including whether she could get remarried or see her children.

Now Jennifer Otter Bickerdike, author of Being Britney and Professor of Popular Music at the BIMM Institute, tells OK! the singer is keen to make the most of her ‘normal’ life and start to grow her family with fiancé Sam Asghari.

Speaking to OK! , Jennifer revealed that fans of the Toxic singer could expect a pregnancy announcement in the coming months.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if she was pregnant already. I think we should be looking for an announcement of an impending arrival in the next three to six months.

“Hopefully a girl. She's desperate to have a girl,” she said.

Britney, who has two sons – Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15 – from her previous relationship with Kevin Federline, has hinted on social media in a series of cryptic posts that she is keen to become a new mum again.

Taking to Instagram, the singer wrote: “I'm thinking about having another baby!!!

“I wonder if this one is a girl… she's on her toes reaching for something… that's for sure!!!!”

Appealing to a judge back in June, Britney revealed that she wasn’t allowed to have her IUD removed, despite her desires to have more children.

At the time, she said: “I want to get married and have a baby.

“I wanted to take the IUD out and have a baby, but the conservatorship won't let me because they don't want me to have a baby.”

After the #FreeBritney movement used social media to raise awareness of the conservatorship, Jennifer, explained that it was Britney’s two sons that helped the star through the darkest of times.

“I think Britney is an awesome parent because that is the only reason that she stayed in the conservatorship for so long,” she said.

“She put those kids above herself for 13 years.”

Britney – who got engaged to Sam, 27, in September – is set to celebrate her 40th birthday later on this week.

Reflecting on the star’s previous birthdays, Jennifer indicated that this milestone may be one of Britney’s most joyous celebrations to date.

“At 30, you’re supposed to have the world conquered. You’re supposed to have everything sorted out. Britney, at 30, was two marriages down, she was barely able to see her kids and she could not have been a worse situation.

“Now she’s free and clear eyed. She’s got a new man, has her kids, hopefully another one on the way. She is definitely stronger than yesterday. I can’t think of anyone else who would’ve made it through the conservatorship,” she said.
