The Paratas are on high alert in the aftermath of Nikau (Kawakawa Fox-Reo) almost being run over by a threatening car, no doubt driven by the gang which has beef with Tane (Ethan Browne). The brothers take turns patrolling the house for further threats, but all is quiet for a few days.
The peace doesn’t last for long, though, as a brick is suddenly thrown through their front window one morning. As Tane retrieves the brick, he notices a note attached to it and hastily folds it away, not wanting his family to be involved with his mess any more.
However, Ari (Rob Kipa-Williams) is suspicious when Tane randomly leaves the house, and follows him. Tane is soon confronted with both bad news from Paul – and his brother showing up. Tane is being forced into another job by the gang, which comes with a high level of risk.
Despite his existing criminal record, Ari insists he has to accompany his little brother on the job. However, when he asks Mac (Emily Weir) if she can look after Nikau while they’re away – he can’t know the truth – she is filled with fear about their safety.
She is adamant they can’t go, especially when Ari admits he won’t be able to contact her if something goes wrong and they’re hurt. To make matters worse, Nik soon realises something is up once the brothers are gone.
Mac does her best to stall Nikau, having been placed in an impossible situation, but he soon loses his patience. Eventually, he gives her an ultimatum – either she tells him the truth about where his uncles have gone, or he gets the police involved.
