There are two things that signal the changing of the seasons: the leaves on the trees turn from green to amber, and lattes change from iced to Pumpkin Spiced. Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice menu is approaching – but when will the fan favourite Pumpkin Spiced Latte return to the menu in 2021?
The Starbucks Pumpkin Spiced Latte has become an iconic drink that signals the official start of Autumn.
Starbucks have said, “The PSL has become its own cultural phenomenon, with each silky-smooth sip of the drink reminding fans of crisp, autumnal days past. Every year social media is ablaze with excitement.”
We’re excited already – but when can we get our hands on a Pumpkin Spiced Latte in the UK?
What is a Pumpkin Spiced Latte?
The latte is infused with the flavours of an all-American dessert favourite: Pumpkin Pie. If you’re thinking Pumpkin? In a coffee? Don’t knock it ‘til you’ve tried it! The flavours of nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves make this coffee taste like cosiness in a cup.
Starbucks describe the drink as, “A scrumptious combination of Starbucks Espresso Roast, pumpkin pie flavoured sauce, and steamed milk, topped with whipped cream and pumpkin pie spices – cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves – this truly is the ‘pumpkin-g’ of flavours.”
Starbucks launched the drink back in 2003, and since then it has become their most popular seasonal beverage. Roughly 424 million Pumpkin Spiced Lattes are sold worldwide.
When will Pumpkin Spiced Lattes be back in the UK?
Starbucks have not yet confirmed – or even hinted – when the Pumpkin Spiced Latte will return to the UK.
Last year, Pumpkin Spiced Lattes were available in the UK from 25 September. In 2019, it was even earlier; on 5 September.
In 2020, the Pumpkin Spiced Latte also brought along some cool friends in the form of the iced Pumpkin Spiced Latte and a Pumpkin Spiced Frappuccino.
A vegan Pumpkin Spiced Latte was even available for those who don’t eat dairy. And if that’s not enough Pumpkin Spice for vegans, last year Starbucks had a vegan Pumpkin Spiced cookie on offer.
