Raymond Blanc often appears on television screens sharing delicious recipes and tips and tricks. One recipe, which is so versatile it can be used as a dip or a spread, is the chef’s tasty roasted garlic recipe.
The recipe serves four people and takes just 10 minutes to prepare.
What’s more, the garlic will cook in 45 minutes, meaning you can have delicious roasted garlic within an hour.
Sharing the recipe on his website, it needs only two ingredients to make.
The recipe said: “Once garlic is roasted, it becomes creamy, sweet and spreadable, so it can actually be used as a healthy alternative to butter at the dinner table.
“Did you know that the British are now eating as much garlic as the French?
“This can only be good, as garlic is packed with vitamins C and B6, as well as manganese, selenium and other antioxidants, contributing to the reduction of blood pressure, reduced cholesterol and cardiovascular diseases.
“So eat your garlic at least twice a week!”
To make Raymond’s roasted garlic, you’ll need two ingredients including two garlic bulbs and one tablespoon of Rapeseed oil.

Start by preheating the oven to 180 degrees celsius.
Next, place the garlic bulbs on a baking tray and drizzle with a little oil.
Bake in the oven for 35 to 45 minutes, depending on the size of the bulbs.
The bulbs must be soft to touch in order to be cooked properly.
Remove the bulbs from the oven and allow them to completely cool before using the spread.
Cut the bulb in half widthways and serve with crusty bread to create a delicious garlic bread.
The recipe added: “This roasted garlic can be served on the side of many dishes such as a barbecued leg of lamb, roast chicken, grilled fish.
“It’s delicious when stirred into homemade mayonnaise and served with steak and chips.”
Another recipe which Raymond has also shared on his website is his tasty delicious roast potatoes.
He said: “Everyone has their own little tips and techniques for making the perfect roast potatoes, but my favourite is one that my British friends have been doing for years.
“Believe me, it will give you a crispy outside and a fluffy centre every time.”
Ingredients include salt, good quality potatoes, goose fat, salt and pepper, herbs and garlic.
Start by preheating the oven to 200 degrees celsius before boiling hot water in a large pan with some salt.
Add the cut up potatoes and bring to a gentle boil for five to six minutes before draining them in a colander and allowing them to stand for two minutes.
Shake the colander and put a tray in the oven with the oil to heat up.
Once heated, place the potatoes on the hot tray and sprinkle some salt and pepper onto them before baking for 40 minutes.
Add the garlic during the last five minutes of cooking and add the thyme and rosemary when removed from the oven.
