A TEEN’s TikTok video has gone viral after she raised awareness of domestic abuse, urging people not to “ignore the signs.”
Amber, 16, can be seen lip syncing along to Lily Allen’s Not Fair featuring lyrics such as “he treats me with respect” and “he says he loves me all the time.”
However, what appears to be a light-hearted clip takes a dark turn as bruises begin to gradually appear on Amber’s face with each new frame.
The A-level student can also be seen attempting to cover up her marks with makeup in the clip.
Captioning the video, she writes: “#pov your friend is trying to convince you the bruises you spotted aren’t from her boyfriend.”
The clip has since been viewed almost two million times and has received over 200,000 likes.
The makeup-enthusiast revealed that she had been inspired to create the video after a family friend became a victim of domestic abuse.
Speaking to the BBC she said: “The message of the video is don't ignore the signs of domestic abuse. If you have the slightest concern, bring it up with the person.
"I feel domestic abuse is something that should have more awareness.”
Her video has encouraged others to come forward with their own stories.

Commenting on the post, one said: “Thank you for doing this. I'm a survivor."
“Been here, came out the other side” said another, with a third adding “This is so powerful.”
However, Amber has received some criticism from those who argued that she was “disrespectful” for “pretending to be a survivor.”
However, she says the intention of the video was purely to raise awareness rather than “gain popularity.”
