The Countess of Wessex, 56, looked very chic in an all Victoria Beckham Cream outfit and wooden wedges. The royal added a statement orange stone earring with a complementing necklace and sported a natural make-up look. This was the very first autumn RHS Chelsea Flower Show, held at the Royal Hospital Chelsea.

The show is a beloved summer event, but due to the pandemic, it was postponed slightly to September.

The royal donned a fabulous new outfit, which consisted of a white textured knitted midi dress by Victoria Beckham, costing £890, and matching wedges from Penelope Chilvers.

Wedges also happen to be a staple in the Duchess of Cambridge’s wardrobe, with her favourite summer shoes being espadrilles.

Kate Middleton has worn espadrilles as her summer staple for years.

When the Duchess was pictured wearing wedge espadrilles with a beautiful, blue dress when out with her family in 2019, online searches for the summer shoe spiked by 170 percent.

It seems as though the Countess of Wessex has caught onto this trend, as she wore a very comfy looking pair of wedges to enjoy the Chelsea Flower Show yesterday.

Kate Stacey the Head of Buying at Pure Collection spoke to Express.co.uk about the similarities in style between the Countess of Wessex and the Duchess of Cambridge.

Kate said: “The Countess of Wessex has undergone nothing short of a style transformation in recent years, moving away from pastel hues and unflattering lengths, she has turned to chic, simple dressing.

“Perhaps taking her inspiration from The Duchess of Cambridge and Meghan Markle, she has embraced flattering silhouettes given by structured coats and figure-hugging long dresses, expertly matching these looks with colour coordinated heels.

“The Countess of Wessex also appears to have made more bold fashion choices in recent years, favouring eye-catching patterns and bold colour combinations.

“Unafraid to experiment with block colours, it seems Sophie is happy to stand out.

“Perhaps this has been intentional and mirrors how her role in the Royal Family is changing.”

Sophie accessorised her outfit with a Sophie Hapsburg bag and was beaming throughout the entire event.

The Countess looked as gorgeous as ever, wearing her hair in an elegant low bun.

Princess Anne, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, and Princess Alexandra were also in attendance.

The royals enjoyed a private reception at one of the Queen’s favourite events before they headed home.

Sophie and Edward received a tour of the RHS Queen’s Green Canopy Garden, which highlights the importance of trees to the environment.

It is a tree-planting initiative celebrating The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee next Summer, by inviting people across the United Kingdom to plant trees from October to the end of 2022.

The royal couple also took a look at the Guide Dogs’ 90th Anniversary Garden.

The entire event was managed under coronavirus social distancing rules, and the Earl and Countess of Wessex both seemed to enjoy the evening very much.
