AN interior design expert has shared her top three tips for making your home look bigger on a budget.

The content creator demonstrated her handy design hacks for her followers.


In her video, TikTok user Julia Sousa (@the_avantgarde) explained: "If you have a small room, this is how you’re going to make it look bigger."

For her first tip, the influencer suggested switching out the furniture in your space.

"Whenever you can use transparent or open space furniture as they take up less space visually," she said.

The TikToker also recommended making the most of mirrors in your home.

"Add large mirrors to trick your depth perception," Julia told her followers.

For her final tip, the content creator advised viewers to also consider the height of their room.

"Draw your eyes towards the ceiling with an accent wall or floor-to-ceiling curtains," she said.

Julia explained: "It elongates the room, appearing taller."

The TikToker showed her followers "a side-by-side comparison of the curtains to show you how big of a difference it makes."

TikTok users took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the hacks.

"I agree with everything but my problem is that I like the first table," wrote one viewer.
