NOWADAYS doing the food shop can bring on stress with price rises on products.
And if you are having to feed a family, you might find yourself really trying to stretch the pounds.
And for one mum and dad who have 11 kids to look after, they have discovered creative hacks to keep their brood well fed and entertained.
Joanne, 39, and Tommy O’Rourke, 40, who refer to themselves as the ‘real life cheaper by the Dozen family’, live in North London.
The household, which is 13 all together, has ages ranging from two to 18.
The pair, who have 10 biological children and recently celebrated 10 years of being foster carers to another child, have revealed the trick to their happy living is to be organised.

They rely on laying out things the night before and having everyone chip in with chores after dinner.
The family is also big on cooking, running their own cooking blog, and say they always aim to do “two new meals a week.”
Joanne continues: “And then we can add them to our list.
“So they'll either be a hit or miss. It's just a way of introducing new foods to the children as part of a healthy, balanced diet.
“Cooking is my passion and my dream is to have a cookbook.”
Joanne revealed that her weekly shopping bill for a family size of 13 is £180 a week.
And despite the recent rise in cost of living, she has managed to keep the price of her shop “pretty much the same.”
She manages to do this by going to multiple different supermarkets to get the best prices on meat, fruit and vegetables.
Speaking to MyLondon, she said: “Aldi is our main one. It’s good value for money. But I also do an Asda online shop often for things I can’t carry like dog food, tins, jars.”

The family doesn’t buy in bulk, either, and does their shopping weekly.
Joanne and Tommy were 18 when they met and fell in love and next year they will be celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary.
