LET'S face it, we all know just how expensive a mortgage can be – especially if you're living in the city centre.

But a twenty-year-old has found the perfect solution to avoid having a mortgage altogether – by living in a tiny home at the end of her parents' garden in North West England.

In a clip posted to TikTok (@the_cabin), the woman, who is presumably living with her partner, shared a glimpse of their new home and penned: "POV: You didn't want a mortgage….welcome to our solution."

She goes on to explain that in June 2023, they decided to buy a 1980's static home for £2000.

"We decided we'd rip it back to bare and see what we could do with the space," she says.

However, it's not all been plain sailing, with the typical wet weather causing havoc and creating obstacles for the couple along the way.

"I would love to do this did you have to buy land ? And are you allowed to live in this all year round would love to find out a bit more info," asked one.

The static home owner replied: "It’s my parents' land – we’re super lucky, yes we can live all year round on privately owned land but you have to check local laws."

A second penned: We have 3 acre of our own land and wanting to do that. Roughly what was the cost without the caravan?

The social media user responded: "So far we think it’ll be around £10k to finish it completely, but you could definitely do cheaper if you have more time to shop around."

A third noted: "I'm dying to take a leap like this!"

Meanwhile, a fourth added: "I want to do this so bad and live with my kids & dog completely off grid."

A further added: "Hey! Me and my partner live in a static too! I never thought about adapting the outside to look like a cabin! LOVE IT!"

And one more chimed in: "Amazing! Can’t wait to see more! Good on you both."
