A FOOD fan has revealed that she put the M&S essentials range to the test, to see how cheap it really is.
TikTok user @mspkcooks regularly shares her food tips, tricks and recipes on social media, but one of her recent clips saw her explore the food prices in M&S.
She posted her video to the social media app with the caption ‘M&S Food essential range. Is it cheaper?’
As she approached the supermarket, she said: “Look at the size of this baby. Absolutely massive. Let's go in.
“So I'm here in one of the biggest Marks and Spencers that I've ever been to, Stevenage, to find out if their essential range really is cheap.
“Ok, so we have a loaf of bread, 85p, oranges £2, iceberg 65p, £2.65 for grapes, 75p for a cucumber.

“The tomato section is definitely bare but you can still get salad tomatoes for 85p.
“Cabbage for 70p, courgette 50p, chicken legs £1.20, sausages £2.50, bacon £2.80, mince £2.
“So this is steak and chips for a tenner – one main, one side and one sauce.
“£1.30 for two pints of milk. I'm not sure if that's good. I don't buy milk, so you’ll have to let me know in the comments.

“£2.50 for cheese. Well I'm gonna have to try this [reduced butter], because you know we love a yellow sticker.
“Pasta 95p, tinned tomatoes 55p, beans 50p, tinned soap 65p, £2.80 for this big pack of long grain easy cook rice.
“Strawberry [jam] is £1.15, cornflakes 85p, bran flakes 75pm £2.50 for 15 free range eggs, £2 for four loo rolls or £4.75 for nine. Washing up liquid £1.
“Ok let's check out the biscuits – 30p for custard creams, 35p for Bourbon creams, 60p for jam sandwich creams, digestives 75p.”
The woman then added: “What's my review? Overall, there are some good prices and the quality is obviously gonna be much better for you.
“Is it cheaper than your local supermarket? I don't know. What do you think?”
The woman’s clip has clearly impressed many, as it has quickly amassed 228.9k views.
It has 11.1k likes, 357 comments and 277 shares.
Social media users were eager to share their thoughts on M&S in the comments.
One person said: “Even if you spend a little bit more, the quality is worth it. The chicken has a lot less fat than everywhere I’ve shopped and the veg lasts ages!”
Another added: “M&S free range eggs are the best I’ve ever had in my life. I will never buy elsewhere. I know a local egg farmer who supplies to M&S they are the best.”
A third commented: “Wow this is actually really decent? Compared to grocery store prices in the Netherlands, especially the cheese and veggies are so well priced!”
