Microsoft has made changes to the popular Achieve More. Earn More. task in the Microsoft Rewards app and moved it to Quests.

Earlier in the week Microsoft ended the famous £1/$1 trial for Game Pass, which had made the service such amazingly good value for money over the last few years. Up until now many Xbox users never actually paid more than that for the service, with others using accumulated Reward Points to pay for it instead, but now that’s been changed too.

Fans have been reporting issues in the Microsoft Rewards app for a few days now, but now it’s been confirmed that the ‘Achieve More. Earn More.’ task is being removed from the app and can only be claimed if you’re a Game Pass subscriber.

If you try to access the task now you get a message saying the following: ‘We regret to inform we are ending the Achieve More. Earn More. offer on the Rewards App on Xbox on April 3rd, 2023. We will add a new daily achievement Xbox Game Pass Quest, starting April 4th, 2023.’

‘If you are not an Xbox Game Pass subscriber, you can still benefit from the many other activities available here. On April 4th, 2023, the Achieve More. Earn More. activity will no longer be available on the Microsoft Rewards App on Xbox,’ adds the message.

The reward previously allowed non-subscribers to earn 50 Rewards Points a day by completing an achievement, which could quickly add up and was how many people used to pay for Game Pass – although the points could be used for whatever you like.

Although Microsoft has built up Game Pass as a major selling point for Xbox it’s still unclear exactly how well it’s doing, as Microsoft rarely reveals user numbers.

Game Pass has already missed its growth targets two years in a row and the company recently admitted that when a game is put on the service it negatively affects its tradition sales, despite previous claims to the contrary.

Last year, Xbox boss Phil Spencer warned that subscriptions could get more expensive in the future, although there have also been rumours of a cheaper Game Pass tier, whose lower price is subsidised by adverts. Nothing has so far been announced though.
