Despite James Gunn making his move over to DC Studios, Marvel Studios is now gearing up to deliver the director’s final project for the studio, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Set to end the trilogy, the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe installment was released on the first day of CCXP.
The nearly two-minute-long teaser trailer offers a look at the packed film that serves to set up the current MCU phase and answer questions about storylines set up already. Sporting new looks, the Guardians of the Galaxy led by Peter Quill/Star-Lord will be on the hunt for Gamora, although the former Zehoberei assassin is from an alternate universe.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will also explore Rocket’s past with a look at Baby Rocket and the introduction of Cosmo the Space Dog. Other introductions come in the form of villains, with both Adam Warlock and the High Evolutionary showing up in the reveal.
